Myeik’s seasonal Marian plums are being sold well after orders from Thailand, according to the market sources.

Recently, these fruits have become abundant in Myeik Township, and small-sized fruits are selling well. “Marian plums only appear at this time. They disappear after their season for a short time. Not like mangoes and rambutans. Sales are good because they are in season. 

There are a lot of orders from Thailand, and in Myeik, there are plenty. The current sale is good. The price of small ones is good,” said a Marian farm owner Ma Myat Lei Lei Phyu in Myeik.

Currently, there are many orders by not only Myanmar people in Thailand but also Thai people as they use it in restaurants.  “It is convenient as my customers deliver to Thailand. We did not remove stalks. If removed, the fruits will get dark and do not look good. 

In addition to the Myanmar from Thailand, Thais also use them in restaurants, so there are many orders from Thailand,” she said.
