Seasonal sweet marian plums have been sold well in Toungoo Township, according to fruits sellers. It has been about a week that sweet marian plums have been available in Toungoo and being freshly-harvested seasonal fruit, there are many buyers.

 “Sweet marian plum is just available in Toungoo and will be produced abundantly in next couple of weeks. People enjoy its sweet taste. It is freshly-harvested seasonal fruit so the demand has mounted as usual,” said Ma Mal Nyein from a locally-grown fruits trading in Toungoo Township.

March is marian plum season in Toungoo and followed by lychee in April and mangosteen and durian in May. “Sweet marian plum is one of local fruit species in Toungoo so its flavour is heavily sweet. At present, demand for the fruit has quite elevated and we have many orders from Magway,” she added.
